Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, will visit Saint Petersburg on Thursday, 6 June, in order to participate in the 23rd International Economic Forum.
On the margins of the Forum, he will meet with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, with whom he will focus on regional and international developments, with emphasis put on the Balkans, the Eastern Mediterranean and Syria.
They will also discuss further strengthening of bilateral relations within the framework of the Joint Action Plan 2019-2020 and expanding cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, such as tourism and culture, with the Greece-Russia Year of Language and Literature (2019) as a point of reference.
In the context of his participation in the Forum, G. Katrougalos will expand on specific aspects of Greek foreign policy, focusing on cultural diplomacy, the potential for exporting culture, and ways to present the country’s cultural heritage on a global level.
