Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias held a videoconference today with the acting President and President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Juan Guaido.
During the discussion, Mr. Guaido briefed the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Venezuela’s recent parliamentary elections, in which the opposition did not participate, and on the challenges Venezuela is facing in general.
In this context, the acting President of Venezuela observed that Turkey is effectively helping the Maduro regime to avoid the repercussions of the embargo that has been imposed.
On his part, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance our country attaches to citizens’ right to freely elect their representatives, underscoring that democratic values are timeless.
