Delegations from Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia meet to discuss EU enlargement

Delegations from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia met today in Athens to discuss issues pertaining to the European integration of the Western Balkans.

The meeting took place following relevant consultations of the two sides during and after the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Mrs Teuta Arifi in Athens, on 25 January 2012.

The two delegations explored ways of achieving closer cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, with the aim of assisting the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in its EU accession process, especially in the framework of Agenda 2014 .

The two sides have confirmed a mutual interest for further cooperation on expert level between the two countries on this issue.

It was agreed that the next meeting will take place in Skopje in November 2012.
