Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos meet with His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Saturday morning, at the Phanar, during his visit to Istanbul.
Following the meeting, Mr. Gerontopoulos stated, “I came to the Ecumenical Patriarchate on the occasion of taking up my new duties. We talked to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew about all the issues, as well as about all the problems the Patriarchate is facing. I stressed to His All Holiness that Greece supports his every effort to resolve these issues.”
Mr. Gerontopoulos met earlier with the Association for the Support of Greek Community Foundations (RUMVADER) and Greek community organizations of Istanbul to discuss issues concerning the education of members of the Greek community and their organization, and he was briefed on the course of the process for the return of properties.
