Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos stated the following in the framework of the Parliamentary Control procedure on Thursday, 19 September 2013:
“I expected the Golden Dawn party to come here today – even if only at the last minute – to apologize out of human courtesy. An expression of remorse, because a pall was cast over the Greek people in recent days as Golden Dawn’s true, repulsive face began to be revealed. The face they hide behind the veil of a parliamentary party. In reality – and they are showing this today, too – they are sworn enemies of Democracy and its institutions. They have had the opportunity throughout this time, here in Parliament, to show that they renounce fascism. Instead, every day they show that they represent a criminal, Nazi organization.”
