Deputy Foreign Minister Kyriakos Gerontopoulos will carry out a two-day visit to Mozambique on Sunday and Monday, 16 and 17 February, to attend the opening of the Holy Cathedral of the Archangels and Greece’s honorary Consulate in the country’s capital, Maputo.
The inauguration of the cathedral will take place on Sunday, with Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa in attendance. Following the inaugural mass, Mr. Kyriakos will meet with Patriarch Theodoros II and members of the Greek Community of Maputo, while the blessing and opening of the Greek consular authority will take place on Monday, following the Mass in Celebration of Saint Theodore the Tyron.
Mr. Gerontopoulos will take the opportunity of his visit to Mozambique to meet with Foreign Minister Oldemiro Baloi and Planning & Development Minister Aiuba Cuereneia.
