Deputy FM Kourkoulas meets with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union

Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas met today with a fifteen-member delegation from the America Chamber of Commerce to the EU, in which U.S. companies active in the EU participate.

Mr. Kourkoulas presented the priorities of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2014 and briefed the delegation on the course of the programme for stabilizing the Greek economy.

The representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU set out their proposals for the promotion of specific measures for stimulating growth during the Greek Presidency. There was also a discussion of the course of the negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, banking union issues, energy, border control, and standardization.

The representatives of the American Chamber expressed their confidence in the ability of the Greek economy to exit the crisis and follow a path of sustainable growth.
