Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas met today, 23 August 2012, with the chargé d’affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Athens, Usama Eleyan, at the instruction of Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos.
The meeting took place following phone talks between Foreign Minister Avramopoulos and his Libyan counterpart Ashour Bin Khayal on 19 July 2012, and telephone communication between Deputy FM Kourkoulas and the Libyan Legation on 2 August 2012.
The Libyan chargé d’affaires briefed Mr. Kourkoulas on the Embassy’s actions toward resolving the problems that have arisen with regard to covering healthcare and living expenses of Libyan citizens incurred at Greek hospitals and hotels, giving his assurances that there would be immediate progress on the issue.
They also discussed bilateral economic relations issues, as well as EU-Libyan relations.
