Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas will be in Brussels from Monday, 31 March, to Thursday, 3 April, to take part in ministerial meetings being held within the framework of the EU-Africa Summit.
On Monday, 31 March, Mr. Kourkoulas, as the representative of the Council of the EU, will open the proceedings of the EU-Africa Parliamentary Summit, standing in for EU High Representative Catherine Ashton.
On Tuesday, 1 April, Mr. Kourkoulas will participate in the meetings in preparation for the EU-Africa Summit, which will take place on 2 and 3 April, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos representing Greece.
In the afternoon, Mr. Kourkoulas will participate in the EU-Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) ministerial dialogue, sitting in for EU High Representative Catherine Ashton, and on Tuesday evening Mr. Kourkoulas and his Italian counterpart will participate in the meeting being hosted by the European External Action Service (EEAS) on maritime security, with the Foreign Ministers of the countries of Africa.
