Deputy FM Kouvelis to meet with members of the OECD Development Assistance Committee

Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis will meet at the Foreign Ministry at 09:00 on Tuesday, 12 April 2011, with members of the Advisory Committee, which is composed of OECD personnel and personnel of from the national Development Cooperation Services of Belgium and Portugal, to evaluate Greek development assistance within the framework of Hellenic Aid.

The evaluation is carried out every four years and is a contractual obligation of OECD member states. The evaluation process is carried out in three stages:

1. Consultations and the presentation of advisory proposals (meeting of 12, 13 and 14 April 2011);

2. Official evaluations of the results in September 2011; and

3. Completion of the process with a presentation on the ministerial level in November 2011.

The Committee will also meet with members of the Hellenic Parliament, with the Director General and personnel of Hellenic Aid, as well as with representatives from the Ministries of Finance; Competitiveness; Maritime Affairs; Environment, Energy, & Climate Change; Interior, Decentralization, & Electronic Governance; Citizen Protection; National Defence; and Health; as well as with representatives of NGOs and universities.
