Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas met at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday, 7 April, with the Ambassadors of Balkan countries in Greece, to whom he announced the hosting of the 1st Balkan conference, which will take place in Thessaloniki on 7 and 8 July 2016, at the “Germanos” Congress Center.
This initiative is taking place within the framework of economic diplomacy and the promotion of strong inter-state economic relations, while it is aimed at bolstering Greek entrepreneurship, creating closer economic and trade ties with the countries of the Balkan peninsula, and broader strengthening of our country’s export efforts.
The Conference is being organized by the Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the Thessaloniki International Fair and with the assistance of the Chambers and Professional Agencies of Thessaloniki. Invitees will include representatives of the Public and Private Sectors from the Balkan countries. The Conference will focus on the food & beverage sector, while emphasis will be put on issues concerning the financial sector and the EU’s policy on the region.
