Deputy FM Tsiaras meets with a delegation of South Korean MPs

Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Tsiaras met today, 7 August 2012, with a delegation from the South Korean Parliament’s Strategy and Finance Committee. The meeting took place in a very warm climate and reaffirmed once again the historic ties between the two states.

The meeting looked at issues concerning the further promotion of development and economic cooperation between Greece and South Korea.

It was decided that the cooperation between the two countries, in addition to the mutual exchange of experience and know-how on development cooperation issues, should expand to the trilateral level, between Greece, South Korea and third states. For this reason, the two sides will set contact points between the two Ministries and the Greek and South Korean diplomatic missions in Seoul and Athens, respectively.

Also discussed were issues concerning the attraction of South Korean investments, as well as preparation for a second Joint Interministerial Committee that is to take place in Athens in the coming year.
