Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Tsiaras met with the President of the World Council of Epirotes Abroad, Chris Dimou, whom he briefed on the effort to create a new World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE) based on self-organization, self-funding and vertical representation.
Mr. Dimou briefed Mr. Tsiaras an the activities of the World Council of Epirotes Abroad, including:
1. The Greek language teaching programme for children of Epirotes residing abroad. This programme is being implemented in collaboration with the University of Ioannina, and is in its sixth year.
2. The writing out of an historical study on the history and historical status of the Epirotes, in collaboration with the University of Ioannina.
3. Support for innovation in and internationalization of young entrepreneurs from Epirus, in collaboration with the University of Ioannina and the Epirus Technological Park.
