Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Kotsiras accompanied the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, on her visit to Slovakia, from 13 to 15 March 2024.
In particular, Mr., Kotsiras participated in the meetings of the President of the Republic with President of Slovakia, Zuzana Čaputová, Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, as well as with Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Peter Pellegrini. During the meetings, the excellent level of bilateral relations between the two countries was underlined and a constructive exchange of views on current regional and international developments took place.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister participated in a meeting of the President of the Republic with two distinguished Hellenists Jana Grusková, professor of Greek philology at the Comenius University of Bratislava, and Ján Zozul'ak professor of Greek language and Byzantine philosophy at the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia, as well as with the teacher Efstratios Gogolas, at the Greek Embassy. Mr. Kotsiras thanked the prominent Hellenist professors for their contribution to promoting Greek language and culture in Slovakia
During his visit, Mr. Kotsiras signed, on behalf of the Greek Government and the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, a Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation in the field of disaster prevention and response with Slovakian Deputy Minister of Interior Lucia Kurilovská.
