Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Kotsiras, speaking yesterday, Tuesday, in the Parliament, at a joint meeting of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad and the Special Permanent Committee on Research and Technology, titled "Hellenic Scientific Diaspora and Innovation" stipulated that the promotion of scientific diplomacy through the scientific Diaspora is a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We are proud of the prominent Diaspora scientists, and the work of the Greek Diaspora in business, as they represent an enormous “national capital”, the Deputy Minister highlighted.
He emphasized that particular importance is placed on leveraging digital tools to improve communication about the expanding research and educational prospects offered by our country, as well as to strengthening the connection between Greek and international academic communities. He also highlighted the importance of collaborations with other ministries and institutions, such as the Ministry of Development, the Study in Greece organization, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and other Greek and foreign universities.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that scientific diplomacy improves Greece’s image abroad and enhances the country as an academic, research and investment hub, while creating prospects for the return of the brain drain generation.
