Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Kotsiras, highlighted the Greek State's initiatives aimed at engaging Greeks living abroad and reversing the brain drain, during his opening remarks at the BrainReGain - Hellenism in Action initiative event titled “Greece is changing and awaits your return”, held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Improvements in the economic climate and labour market, along with the digitalization of public administration, and a plethora of reforms by Kyriakos Mitsotakis' government, have contributed to enhancing, among other things, the country's brand name.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Greek Missions Abroad actively contribute to communicating further improvements to the nation's image, thereby encouraging our valuable national capital currently living abroad to return to our homeland, underscored Mr. Kotsiras.
The Deputy Minister placed particular emphasis on the Strategic Plan for Greeks Abroad, which focuses on strengthening communication channels with the Diaspora and includes actions and initiatives expected to bring multiple benefits in reversing the brain drain.
"The recovery of critical national capital-such as the Greeks who have left our country-requires investment, strategy, stable political conditions. In this regard, our country has managed to create a much more attractive environment in the last five years," Mr. Kotsiras concluded.
