The 6th Round of Consultations within the framework of the Greek-German Action Plan was held at deputy ministerial level on Friday, May 31, 2024 in Athens. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Mr. Fragogiannis, the Secretaries-General of the Ministry of Energy and Environment, Mr. Aivaliotis and Mr. Varelidis, as well as delegations from the Ministries of Rural Development and Food, Climate Crisis, and Civil Protection met with their German counterparts.
During the discussions, both sides reaffirmed their mutual willingness to strengthen bilateral relations. They agreed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the areas of economy, research, and innovation. In response to the climate crisis, they considered it essential to undertake joint action to address the consequences of extreme weather events, secure agricultural production, and bolster development.
On Thursday, May 30, preliminary political consultations were held between Deputy Minister Papadopoulou and German State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Thomas Bagger. The two interlocutors exchanged views on a range of current regional, international, bilateral, and European issues, expressing their commitment to further promote bilateral relations at all levels and enhance cooperation internationally.
