Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Vlasis today met at his office with the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodoros II.
During the meeting, which took place in a very friendly atmosphere, the Deputy Minister underscored the missionary work and humanitarian activities of His Beatitude on the African continent, expressing the Greek government’s support for the continuation of his work.
His Beatitude wished the Deputy Minister every success in his new duties and referred to the extensive philanthropic work of the Patriarchate, which has under its supervision a large number of schools – which help to spread the Greek language – and medical centres that provide their services free of charge.
