Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Extroversion, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, visited Thessaloniki, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Mr. Chatzivasileiou, along with the Deputy Minister of Interior, responsible for Macedonia - Thrace, Konstantinos Gioulekas, received the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Timčo Mucunski, and Health, Arben Taravari, of North Macedonia. Together, they visited the "Papanikolaou" Hospital and the 424 Military Hospital, where burn victims are being treated following the fire that broke out at an entertainment center in Kočani, North Macedonia.
Mr. Chatzivasileiou stated that Greece, from the very first moment of the tragic accident, stood with humanity and solidarity by the people of North Macedonia, proving in practice that it is a provider of security in the region. He also recalled that Mr. Gerapetritis was one of the first Ministers of Foreign Affairs to contact the government of the neighboring country, expressing Greece’s immediate willingness and availability to provide medical care for the injured.
