
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for Economic Diplomacy and Openness, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, visited Washington, USA, on February 9-10, 2025.
The purpose of his visit to the US capital was to hold meetings with high-level officials of the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and to participate in the 6th Delphi Forum Washington DC.
On Monday, February 10, Mr. Chatzivasileiou met with the Assistant U.S Trade Representative for Europe and the Middle East, Bryant Trick, the Deputy Assistant U.S Trade Representative for Europe, Michael Rogers, and the Director for Europe and the Middle East, responsible for Greece, Dana Fager. During the meeting, the prospects for further strengthening of the trade relations between the two countries were discussed. Mr. Chatzivasileiou stressed that Greece remains a reliable partner for the USA, investing in diplomacy and the upgrading of the two countries’ strategic relations.
In the framework of the 6th Delphi Forum Washington DC, held at the Atlantic Council’s Headquarters, the Deputy Minister participated in a roundtable, titled “From Seas to Shining Seas: The Untapped potential of the 3 Seas Initiative”. At the event, Mr. Chatzivasileiou exchanged views with Atlantic Council’s Senior Fellow, Ian Brzezinski, the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United States, Georgi Panayotov and the Co-Chair of the Three Seas programming at the Atlantic Council’s Europe Center, Georgette Mosbacher, on the current geopolitical situation, the economy and the Three Seas Initiative.
