Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos communicated by phone today with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who congratulated Mr. Venizelos on his new duties.
During their talks they discussed a number of issues concerning Greek-UAE bilateral relations, and they exchanged views on issues of the wider region, including the situation in Egypt.
Mr. Venizelos and the UAE Foreign Minister agreed to continue their consultations on issues of common interest and to meet next month, in New York, on the margins of the UN General Assembly.
