Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos meets with Georgian Foreign Minister M. Panjikidze

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met with Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze in Brussels today, 3 December, on the margins of the Meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers.

Mr. Venizelos noted the historical bonds of friendship between the two peoples and congratulated Ms. Panjikidze on the progress she has made in her effort to conclude an Association Agreement with the EU.

During their meeting they also exchanged views on issues of bilateral and international interest, as well as on Georgia’s relations with the North Atlantic Alliance.

Finally, Mr. Venizelos and Ms. Panjikidze signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries, giving practical expression to Greece’s will to contribute to the promotion of reforms that will bring Georgia closer to the EU.
