Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met in New York on Friday, 27 September, with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, within the framework of Ministerial Week at the 68th UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, Mr. Judeh conveyed his assessment of the course of the Middle East peace process, and of the situation in Syria, given that Jordan is a reception country for thousands of refugees from Syria.
Both Ministers remarked on the need to strengthen Greek-Jordanian economic and trade contacts, and they exchanged invitations for reciprocal visits on the level of Foreign Ministers.
Finally, Mr. Venizelos conveyed the President of the Hellenic Republic’s invitation to Jordanian King Abdullah II to carry out a state visit to Greece.
