Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met in New York yesterday, 26 September, with the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Erlan A. Idrissov, on the margins of Ministerial Week at the 68th UN General Assembly.
During their meeting, they discussed international and global issues and looked at ways to expand Greek-Kazakhstani political, economic and energy relations, as well as at ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries’ chambers of commerce.
Messrs. Venizelos and Idrissov also remarked upon the need to promote EU-Kazakhstan relations during Greece’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU. Finally, Mr. Venizelos conveyed the President of the Republic’s invitation to his Kazakhstani counterpart to carry out a state visit to Greece.
