Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos meets with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met on Monday, 23 September, with the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the framework of Ministerial Week of the 68th UN General Assembly.

During their meeting, they exchanged views on international and regional issues, and they looked at ways to further expand Greek-UAE political relations and bilateral cooperation.

The two Ministers expressed their will to work toward the completion and signing of major economic agreements in the sectors of health and road and maritime; agreements that could be signed in the framework of the 2nd Greek-UAE Joint Interministerial Committee, which is expected to take place by the end of the year, in Abu Dhabi.

Mr. Venizelos pointed out the opportunities for investment activities in Greece by Emirate companies, and he reiterated Greece’s warm support for the efforts to abolish Shengen visa requirements for UAE citizens.
