Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos to participate in the Meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers (Brussels, 3-4 December 2013)

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will travel to Brussels tomorrow to participate in the proceedings of the Meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers on 3 and 4 December 2013.

On the first day of the North Atlantic Alliance meeting, Mr. Venizelos will take part in the discussions on the future of Euroatlantic cooperation, preparations for the 2014 Summit Meeting, and NATO partnerships. He will then attend a working dinner at which the discussion will focus on the prospects for enlarging the Organization.

On the second day of the Meeting, Mr. Venizelos will participate in the NATO-Russia Council, which will look at cooperation between the North Atlantic Alliance and Russia. On the same day, he will take part in the meeting of NATO member-state Foreign Ministers with officials of states and organizations contributing to the NATO mission in Afghanistan (ISAF). The Ministerial will end with a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission.

Finally, Mr. Venizelos will have separate bilateral meetings on the margins of the NATO Ministerial with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel García-Margallo y Marfil and Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze.
