Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos to participate in the Visegrad+3 Ministerial Meeting (Budapest, 24 February 2014)

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will be in Budapest on Monday, 24 February, to participate in the Visegrad+3 Ministerial Meeting, which will be attended by the Foreign Ministers of the Visegrad Group (V4) – Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic – and the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.

Before the opening of the Ministerial proceedings, Mr. Venizelos will meet for bilateral talks with Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi, to discuss the course of bilateral relations, Hellenic EU Presidency issues, and current regional and international developments (Ukraine, Western Balkans, Syria).

Mr. Venizelos will then attend the Visegrad V4+3 Ministerial, the agenda for which included energy and climate change, migration, and the course of the Eastern Partnership, with emphasis on the developments in Ukraine.

Following the Ministerial, at about 13:15, the V4+3 Ministers will hold a press conference.

Finally, Mr. Venizelos will attend the Ministerial working luncheon, where there will be a discussion of regional developments, xenophobia and racism issues, as well as the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
