Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos to visit the U.S. (16-17 January 2014)

Following the completion of his visit to Paris, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos will meet in Washington on Thursday, 16 January, with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, with whom he will hold consultations on issues of bilateral and international interest, as well as on issues that concern the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On Friday, 17 November, Mr. Venizelos will meet with the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Jack Lew, whom he will brief on the course of the Greek economy and on the Hellenic Presidency’s priorities concerning EU economic governance.

During his stay in Washington, Mr. Venizelos will meet at Congress with the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Robert Menendez, as well as with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, Ed Royce.

Finally, Mr. Venizelos will have meetings with think tank executives and representatives of Greek American organizations.
