During the vetting of incoming correspondence at the Greek Embassy in Madrid today, an envelope was found to merit secure opening procedures, carried out with the assistance of the Spanish police. The envelope contained small calibre bullets and the text of a declaration. The findings are being examined by the Spanish policy.
Yesterday, an envelope with similar contents arrived at the Greece’s Honorary Consulate in Barcelona.
Foreign Ministry Secretary General Y. A. Zepos has re-issued instructions to all Foreign Service Missions to maintain heightened security measures.
