Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas will deliver an address at 12:00 on Wednesday, 27 October, on the ground floor of the Foreign Ministry building at 1 Akadimias St., within the framework of an event being hosted by the Diplomatic and Historical Archive Department marking the 70th anniversary of the Axis powers’ declaration of war on Greece.
Greece fought with epic heroism on the fields of battle, and through its resistance decisively impacted the final outcome of the war. “Heroes fight like Greeks", the historic phrase uttered by Winston Churchill, is the title of the film to be screened at the event. The film – produced by the Diplomatic and Historical Archive Department from historical documents from the Foreign Ministry’s Cinematic Archive – will have English subtitles and includes rare footage, including the flag-raising ceremony on the Holy Rock of the Acropolis.
