A bus belonging to the Turkish company “Metro” crashed at 04:50 today on the Ipsala-Istanbul road during a scheduled run from Istanbul to Athens. The bus swerved from its course, under conditions that are being investigated, and overturned. According to initial reports, there are Greeks among the fatalities, and injured Greeks have been hospitalized in Malkara, Turkey.
Personnel from the Istanbul Consulate General and the Edirne Consulate are on their way to Malkara and an Air Force C-130 transport plane has been put on alert.
