Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos met today, Friday, 12 October 2012, with the Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Ambassador Victor Tvircun.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the need to upgrade the BSEC’s role and increase its effectiveness, with the goal of strengthening regional cooperation, particularly in the sectors of trade, investments, energy, transport, and tourism. Special mention was made of the Black Sea Ring Road and the extension of Maritime Corridors on the Black Sea, two mutually supplementary programmes that can contribute decisively to regional development and further cooperation between BSEC member states.
Finally, Mr. Avramopoulos noted the important role of the BSEC Secretary General and reiterated Greece’s support for his work and Organization’s activities.
