Foreign Minister Avramopoulos to visit Croatia

Following his meetings in Romania, where he will carry out a working visit on 4 April 2013, Mr. Avramopoulos will travel on to Zagreb the same day for a working visit ahead of Croatia’s accession to the EU on 1 July 2013.

Mr. Avramopoulos will be received by the President of the Croatian Republic, Dr. Ivo Josipović, and he will hold bilateral consultations with Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić. The two Ministers will cover the whole range of Greek-Croatian bilateral relations and seek way to further promote bilateral cooperation on the political and economic levels.

Mr. Avramopoulos will brief Ms. Pusić on our country’s priorities for its EU Presidency in the first half of 2014. They will also discuss recent developments in Cyprus and the efforts to confront the crisis on the European level. The agenda for their talks also includes regional developments in Southeast Europe and the situation in Syria and the wider Middle East.
