Foreign Minister Avramopoulos to visit Romania

Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos will travel to Bucharest on Thursday, 4 April 2013, for a one-day official visit.

Mr. Avramopoulos will have talks with Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta, and he will hold bilateral consultations with Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean.

The two Foreign Ministers will look at ways to strengthen Greek-Romanian bilateral cooperation. They will also discuss the latest developments in Cyprus, the efforts to confront the crisis on the European level, as well as the EU multiannual financial framework for 2014-2020. The agenda also includes regional developments in the regions of Southeast Europe and the Middle East, as well as the two countries’ cooperation within regional organizations.

Following their meeting, the Foreign Ministers will make statements to the news media, and Mr. Corlatean will host a working luncheon in Mr. Avramopoulos’s honor. Immediately afterwards, Mr. Avramopoulos will depart for Zagreb, Croatia, where he will carry out a working visit.
