Foreign Minister Dimas talks by phone with Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu Foreign Minister Stavros Dimas talked by telephone today with Turkish Foreign

Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who called to invite Mr. Dimas to the annual Meeting of Turkish Ambassadors continuing tomorrow in Edirne. Mr. Dimas expressed interest in the meeting, but unfortunately was not in a position to accept the invitation due to prior obligations.

The two ministers took the opportunity of their talk to discuss the issue of the statements made by Turkish former prime minister M. Yilmaz.

Mr. Dimas stressed that clearing up this case will have a positive impact on our bilateral relations. He added that as long as this issue remains uninvestigated it will continue to poison public opinion and the efforts to build trust between the two peoples.

The two Ministers expressed the wish to meet in the near future, as their schedules permit.
