Mr. Droutsas: Every meeting with His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios is a great pleasure, honor and inspiration for me. We had the opportunity to discuss a number of issues. His Eminence was kind enough to brief me on the very important work of the Archdiocese, particularly as regards the Greek American community, which is so important for Greece.
I had the opportunity to brief him on developments in Greece, particularly the efforts and sacrifices of the Greek people, but also the major structural reforms that will soon lead Greece out of the economic crisis it is facing into a bright future for the homeland.
Allow me to say that His Eminence is a very important figure who is very greatly respected and loved, not just here in America. His work is important for Orthodoxy, for Hellenism and for Greece, and I would like to thank him very much for this work, for his efforts, for his presence, for our cooperation, and above all for his love.
