Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias met today in New York City, on the margins of the UN General Assembly, with the Norwegian Minister competent for European Union and European Economic Area issues, Vidar Helgesen.
The two Ministers reviewed the course of Greek-Norwegian bilateral relations and agreed to strengthen cooperation to capitalize on programmes within the framework of the European Economic Area and to expand synergies in education by utilizing the educational institutions based in Oslo for bilateral meetings and exchanges.
Mr. Helgesen briefed Mr. Kotzias on the Donor Conference for Syria that Norway will be hosting soon, and they discussed the potential for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of NATO – with the two countries being on geographical extremes of the Alliance – as well as the issue of funding for migration programmes within the framework of the European Economic Area.
