“We went to Iran to formulate a comprehensive action plan that we hope will be ready ahead of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ visit to Iran at the beginning of next year. The trip to Iran was promising and effective, and it was one of the trips we are taking to the region. I remind you that over the past two weeks we have been to Istanbul and Ankara, Israel and Palestine, and on 8 December we are expecting the Egyptian President in Athens.
With regard to Brussels, you know that, from the very outset, we came out in favor of toning things down and of there being calm and composure as concerns the relations of the West, and NATO in particular, with Russia, because we believe that the talks and dialogue that started in Vienna must continue, with the main aim of our ensuring peace and the restored functioning of society in Syria, and the shaping a democratic Constitution and elections in that country. Because the source of the refugee problem is the Syrian crisis, and the solution to this problem is to bring peace to Syria.”
