Foreign Minister Stavros Lambrinidis will meet at 12:00 on Sunday, 17 July, with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who will be carrying out a visit to Greece on 17 and 18 July. The meeting will be followed by a press conference.
Journalists who have already been accredited to cover the press conference will be informed by the Information and Public Diplomacy Department of the special regulations in force for their arrival at the Ministry.
Within the framework of the visit, Mr. Lambrinidis and Ms. Clinton will sign, on behalf of the Greek and U.S. governments, a “Memorandum of Cooperation on imposing import restrictions on categories of ancient and Byzantine ecclesiastical and ethnological material from up to and including the 15th century BC”, which is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in combatting illegal trafficking and selling of ancient artefacts.
