Foreign Ministry announcement on the passing of Ambassador emeritus Achilles Exarchos

Ambassador Achilles Exarchos, a distinguished career diplomat, has passed away.

Ambassador Achilles Exarchos served at the beginning of his career at Greece’s Embassies in Nicosia and Sofia. He then served as Consul in Naples and as Consul General in London. Other postings he held included Greek Ambassador to Nigeria and Greek Permanent Representative to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.

During his career, he distinguished himself for his conscientiousness, his ethos, and his strong sense of duty.

The leadership of the Foreign Ministry and all of Achilles Exarchos’ colleagues express their deep condolences to his loved ones.
