The ongoing crisis in Libya and the serious humanitarian repercussions for the Libyan people are cause for great concern. As everyone knows, discussions have been under way in the Contact Group for some time now regarding the provision of humanitarian aid to the Libyan people using the frozen assets of the Libyan regime, with respect for the resolutions of the UN Security Council. And important progress was made in this direction at yesterday’s Contact Group meeting in Abu Dhabi.
Together with its allies and partners, Greece is participating actively in the efforts to find a political solution to the Libyan crisis and has stated its readiness to undertake initiatives to this end, including the provision of humanitarian aid to the Libyan people.
