On the instructions of Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, the Estonian Ambassador to Greece, Margus Rava, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry today to be served with a demarche protesting the unreasonable and offensive statements regarding Greece that were made by Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves in an interview with “The Times”. It was stressed to the Estonian Ambassador that such characterizations are incompatible with European political culture and the level of relations and contacts between two allies and partners such as Greece and Estonia.
