Ambassador Georgios Paizis, a distinguished career diplomat, passed away today, 7 August 2013.
Ambassador Georgios Paizis’ posts included Greek Consul General in Paris, Greek Ambassador to Doha, Director General for Personnel, Head of Foreign Ministry Organization and Financial Management, as well as Greek Ambassador to Prague. He also served at the Greek Embassies in Addis Ababa and Stockholm, and at the Consulate in New Orleans.
During his career, he was distinguished for his conscientiousness, his ethos and his love for the homeland.
His death is a loss for the country’s Diplomatic Service.
The leadership of the Foreign Ministry and all of his colleagues express their deep condolences to his loved ones.
