The Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General, Ambassador Yannis-Alexis Zepos, carried out a visit to Beijing on 26 and 27 May. Mr. Zepos met with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Fu Ying for consultations on a broad range of issues of mutual interest. They exchanged views on developments in Libya, the situation in North Africa, UN Security Council reform, and EU-Chinese relations, and they also had an in-depth discussion of bilateral political and economic cooperation issues. Both sides expressed their particular satisfaction at the level of Greek-Chinese relations and the increasing numbers and frequency of reciprocal visits, as well as the recent opening of the Athens-Beijing direct air link.
Mr. Zepos also met with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jeichi and Deputy Director of the Communist Party of China’s International Liaison Department Liu Jieyi.
