Foreign Ministry spokesman Gregory Delavekouras issued the following statement today regarding the deaths of four Palestinians in an Israeli attack in Gaza and a bombing attack in Jerusalem:
“Greece condemns the deaths of the four Palestinian civilians – including two children – from Israeli gunfire in Gaza.
Similarly, we condemn the ongoing, blind rocket attacks on Israeli citizens, including today’s bombing attack in Jerusalem.
The problem cannot be solved through violence. We need a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question. We need complete dedication to finding a just and viable solution, with the immediate relaunching of the direct talks and avoidance by all sides of unilateral acts that undermine achievement of this goal.
Within this framework, there needs to be an immediate stop to the violence – whatever its source – lifting of the blockade on Gaza and tangible progress on intra-Palestinian reconciliation.”
