Foreign Ministry spokesperson Konstantinos Koutras stated the following in response to journalists’ questions on the agreement reached in Geneva, on Sunday, 24 November, regarding the Iranian nuclear programme:
“Greece welcomes the Geneva agreement between Iran and the P5+1 – the five permanent members of the UN Security council plus Germany. This agreement, which was reached thanks to the decisive contribution of the European Union and High Representative Ashton, is a major diplomatic development and an encouraging first step in the direction of a comprehensive agreement for resolving the Iranian nuclear issue; an agreement that will respond to the concerns of the international community as to the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.”
