International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA)
The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance is the largest global organization, bringing together government agencies, members of the academic community, and experts. It aims to promote Holocaust education and remembrance research, discuss Holocaust-related issues, including anti-Semitism, and, lastly, support the commitments of the Stockholm Declaration of 2000.
The IHRA was launched in 1998 – as the Task Force for International Cooperation on Holocaust Education, Remembrance, and Research – by former Swedish Prime Minister Göran Persson.
The IHRA currently has 35 member states, nine observer states, and nine permanent international partners, including the UN, the EU, and UNESCO.
Greece has been a full member of the IHRA since 2005 and it held the Presidency of the Alliance from April 2021 until March 2022.
