Greek Embassy in Tel Aviv holds event promoting bilateral economic relations

The Greek Embassy in Tel Aviv hosted and event on 15 December aimed at promoting Greek-Israeli bilateral economic relations. The event, which was attended by over 100 businesspersons and agency representatives, included a seminar on clean technologies and renewable energy sources, as well as business meetings.

Our Embassy’s collaborators in Israel included the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Industry, the Association of Industries, the Institute for International Cooperation and Exports, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Israeli-Greek Chamber of Commerce. The Greek “Invest in Greece” agency also collaborated with our Embassy on this event.

The seminar was introduced by Israeli Trade Minister Ben Eliezer, who stressed the firm political will for development of bilateral relations with Greece in all sectors. Secretary General for International Economic Relations and Development Cooperation K. Papadopoulos spoke of the Greek economy’s prospects, and Invest in Greece President Ms. Boufounou referred to investment opportunities in Greece. The speakers from the Israeli side focussed on cooperation in specialized sectors, such as sustainable energy and water technologies.

The representatives of the 40 Israeli and 30 Greek enterprises that took part in the event held over 150 B2B meetings. The businesspersons and organizers on both sides expressed their satisfaction at the organization and results of the event, stating their desire to hold a similar event in Greece at the soonest possible time.
