The “mAigov” now supports 25 Languages – Presentation of the Multilingual “Digital Assistant” by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis, and Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou
The multilingual “Digital Assistant” “mAigov” was presented on Thursday afternoon (25/01/2024) by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis, and Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, at the "Yiannos Kranidiotis" amphitheater of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The platform enables citizens to interact with the Greek State in 25 languages.
In particular, citizens, no matter where they are, have now the ability to “converse” with the “Digital Assistant” in any of the 24 official languages of the European Union as well as in Albanian, and to be informed about the services and administrative procedures provided. The "conversation" can be conducted via multiple devices, including mobile phones, tablets, or computers, with questions asked either in text or via voice. The “Digital Assistant” enables users to locate the service they are looking for in a simple and user-friendly way. At the end of the "conversation," users have the option to evaluate the application.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritis, stated: “Every day that the quality of services provided to citizens improves is a significant day for our country’s administrative system. It is important today to recognize that Greece, the Greek Government, remains on the side of the Greeks, wherever they are in the world. The main objective of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Strategic Plan for Diaspora Greeks is to bring the entire Hellenism closer to the metropolitan center. We will continue to stand by our citizens because foreign policy is not just about defending national interests in the international arena, but also about supporting Hellenism all over the world.”
Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, stated: “To date, the “mAigov” has conducted more than 300,000 dialogues. We are very pleased because the Ministry of Digital Governance is moving forward dynamically, pioneering at the European level and contributing to Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ vision of an outward-looking and friendly country. Now, the “mAigov” ‘responds’ in 24 EU languages plus in Albanian, allowing Diaspora Greeks, as well as citizens who do not speak Greek, to seek information about a range of services and procedures provided by the Greek public sector. Our goal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is to expand services for both Greek citizens and foreigners, in order to further attract investment, tourism, and innovation. Our objective is to take steady steps towards a more outward-looking, a brighter, and a more digital Greece.”
It is reminded that the search for the “Digital Assistant” “mAigov” is carried out in the - to date - 1670 services of gov.gr and the 3296 administrative procedures of the National Registry of Administrative Public Services "MITOS." It is noted that the platform operates with advanced cognitive computing capabilities and responds based on the data entered. It takes the user’s initial question into account and retains the conversation in memory throughout the interaction, ensuring the best experience for each user. Since the launch of the “Digital Assistant,” more than 300,000 dialogues have been carried out.
These dialogues can now be conducted in the 24 official languages of the European Union (Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish and Swedish) as well as in Albanian.
