Upon the initiative of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Mardas, today, Tuesday 13 September, a meeting with top executives of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. has been scheduled for 17:00 at the MFA in cooperation with the senior management of the Athens Chamber of Tradesmen & Professionals (EEA).
This is a follow-up on contacts state officers and government officials made during the recent visit of PM Tsipras to China. It aims at Alibaba discussing its business plans for the Greek market as well as fostering cooperation to promote Greek exports to China and appeal to a significantly higher number of Chinese visitors to Greece.
Participants to today’s meeting include Ev. Apostolou-Minister of Agricultural Development, Elena Kountouras-Alternate Minister for Tourism, D. Liakos-Economic Advisor to the PM and V.Dotsis-CEO of Enterprice Greece. Alibaba will be represented by Rodrigo Cipriani Foresio-Managing Director Alibaba Italy, Spain, Portugal & Greece; Christina Fontana–Senior Manager Business Development Alibaba Group; Yong ZHANG-Chief Contents Officer, Holiday Department, Alitrip; Yana GENG-Business Development Manager Ant Financial, AliPay; Albert Antonini Mangia-Marketing Manager Alibaba Group. Ioannis Hatzitheodosiou, EEA President and Yiorgos Floras, BoD member, are to represent the Chamber.
Upon the end of the meeting, Alibaba executives will make a presentation of their objectives and plans before the representatives of Greek Professional organizations, Chambers and Federations at an event that the Ministry is hosting in cooperation with the EEA at the ‘Giannos Kranidiotis Conference Hall’ (MFA, Vassilissis Sophias Ave.1).
